GREENZEEN RESEARCH

If it can be more sustainable, it should be.

That is where Greenzeen begins. With the belief that progress is not just about doing more, but about doing things better. More thoughtfully. More responsibly. With less impact on the world around us.

  • Desk research
  • Knowledge analysis
  • Digital publishing

We want to understand where change is possible. Which habits we can rethink. Which assumptions deserve a closer look. And how knowledge can become something that makes a practical difference.

That is why we research. Not because every challenge needs another report, but because better solutions begin with a better understanding.

Research is where our story began

That conviction led us to publishing. To the way we create, distribute and preserve information. Going digital seemed like an obvious step forward. But digital has a footprint too. What does that footprint look like? How can we understand it? And what could we do differently?

We explored those questions in depth. That research led to our first product: Greenzeen, a digital publishing platform developed with the ambition of making carbon-neutral publishing possible.

For us, that was not the end of the story. It showed how research, technology and communication can strengthen each other. How a critical question can become the starting point for a different way of working.

Greenzeen Research gives that approach a space of its own. We bring knowledge together, examine what it means and make insights useful for organisations ready to look further. From the first question to a clear publication.

Research to understand. Understand to improve. Share to move forward.

Plenty of information. But what helps you move forward?

There is no shortage of reports, ideas and promising solutions. The challenge is knowing which information matters, how well it is supported and what it means in your context.

A topic can be extensively documented while the most important questions remain unanswered. Sources may complement each other or point in different directions. And a substantial report does not necessarily answer the question your organisation needs to resolve.

Greenzeen Research helps bridge that gap. We search, organise, compare and interpret. Not simply to collect information again, but to turn it into a useful body of knowledge.

What we focus on

Sustainability and carbon impact

Improving sustainability starts with understanding what we do and the effects it has. We explore the impact of products, services and ways of working. We examine how that impact is described and substantiated, which assumptions shape the findings and where there is room for improvement.

Innovation and society

Progress happens where new knowledge meets established habits. We explore developments at the intersection of sustainability, technology and society. What is changing? What possibilities does that create? And which questions need attention before an idea is embraced as a solution?

Digital communication and knowledge sharing

How do you make complex information understandable and useful to different readers? We connect analysis with editorial structure and digital publishing. So knowledge is not just recorded, but can also be found, read and used.

From a research question to a useful outcome

Not every question calls for a large study. Sometimes a focused review of existing knowledge is enough. Other questions require a deeper investigation to test assumptions or compare different approaches. The format follows the question.

Open book resting on ascending steps

A knowledge review that brings clarity

A focused exploration of existing literature, reports and documented examples. What is already known? Which developments deserve attention? And where are the most important gaps? You receive an overview of relevant themes, sources and findings to inform further consideration.

An analysis that makes differences clear

An in-depth comparison of solutions, approaches or applications. We assess them against an agreed framework, showing where evidence, expectations and practical requirements differ. You receive a reasoned analysis that makes room for both promising directions and important caveats.

A research dossier that brings knowledge together

A structured dossier with source references, thematic analysis and a clear synthesis. The conclusions remain available alongside the reasoning behind them. You receive a body of knowledge that colleagues and other stakeholders can take forward.

A publication that guides the reader

A digital presentation of research findings, from a concise summary to a detailed knowledge resource. We organise the core message, context and supporting detail around the purpose of the publication and the needs of its readers. Not everyone has to read the full report to understand the essentials, while the underlying evidence remains available.

For the public sector

Public knowledge should go further.

Knowledge plays a part in almost every public challenge. In developing policy, weighing different interests and explaining decisions. But it only becomes useful when people can find, understand and apply it.

A policy adviser, public official, partner organisation or resident approaches the same subject from a different perspective. That calls for coherent information and care in how it is shared.

Greenzeen connects research, editorial work and digital publishing. We can help explore a topic, organise fragmented information or turn a detailed dossier into a clear narrative. With room for nuance and depth, without losing sight of the reader.

From information to insight

Research and policy documents contain valuable knowledge. We bring the main findings, supporting evidence and open questions together, making the information easier to navigate and discuss.

From specialist language to a clear story

We make complex subjects readable for different audiences. Not by oversimplifying the content, but by providing explanation, structure and depth where they are needed.

From a document to shared knowledge

We help make knowledge available through digital reports, thematic dossiers and public-facing publications. Format, accessibility and ongoing maintenance are considered from the outset.

The same knowledge can support internal discussion and communication with the wider public. Not everyone needs to read everything. But readers should be able to find what matters to them.

How we approach research

  1. (01)

Start with the question behind the question

Together, we establish what you want to understand and which decision or consideration the research should support. We define the scope, key terms and expectations, including what falls outside the study.

  2. (02)

Search with focus, keep an open perspective

We gather relevant literature, public reports and documented practical examples. The search approach follows the question while leaving room for insights from other sectors and contexts.

  3. (03)

    Organise and assess critically

We group related findings and examine the evidence behind them. Where does a claim come from? Was the effect measured or anticipated? Which conditions and limitations matter?

  4. (04)

Connect the findings to the question

We relate the findings to the original question. Which insights help move things forward? Which perspectives are still missing? And what can the available knowledge not tell us?

  5. (05)

    Document clearly and share

We bring the analysis together in a suitable report or digital publication. With a clear core message, traceable sources and visible uncertainties. The required depth and any additional expert review are agreed in advance.

Good research also shows what we do not know

A useful conclusion does not have to be absolute. Sometimes the evidence is strong. Sometimes the results are promising but depend on particular circumstances. Sometimes the lack of reliable knowledge is itself the most important finding.

That is why we distinguish between what a source shows, how we interpret that information and which questions remain open. We also consider conflicting findings and arguments that could change an initial conclusion.

Source quality, context and the date of the information are part of the story. We do not treat an expectation as equivalent to a substantiated measurement. And an appealing conclusion should stand up to scrutiny of the assumptions behind it.

Evidence should do more than persuade. The reasoning should be clear.

Research deserves to be read

From a final report to an accessible knowledge publication

Delivering a study is not necessarily the end of the communication process. It can be the beginning: a basis for conversations, decisions and further knowledge sharing.

This is where the two sides of Greenzeen come together. We connect research and editorial work with digital publishing. A summary for readers who need the essentials, in-depth chapters for those closely involved and source references for anyone who wants to follow the evidence.

We start with the reader's questions: what needs to be understood first, where is explanation needed and which details should remain available? A downloadable document can complement the publication when it serves a practical purpose.

Digital accessibility starts with the content

A clear heading structure, descriptive links, text alternatives and carefully prepared tables are part of the publishing process. We consider accessibility in decisions about content, design and technology.

For each project, we agree which accessibility requirements apply, how the publication will be assessed and who will address any improvements. Accessibility becomes a concrete commitment, not simply a label at delivery.

Studying sustainability. Looking at ourselves, too.

For Greenzeen, sustainability is both a research theme and a question we ask of our own ways of working. Digital communication has an environmental impact too. That deserves attention alongside the content we publish.

That is why we seek to understand the impact of online publishing. We also invest in our food forest in Boekelo, the Netherlands: a tangible initiative that brings our commitment to sustainability close to home.

We distinguish between the emissions associated with our services and the contribution of the food forest. Calculations and statements about carbon compensation need a clearly defined scope, period and supporting evidence. We want the same care to be reflected in the knowledge we make available to others.

Frequently asked questions

From initial exploration to research and digital publishing.

Which question deserves a closer look?

You do not need a fully developed research brief to start a conversation. A challenge, an initial direction or a collection of existing reports may be enough. Tell us what you want to understand, who the findings are for and which decision or consideration they should inform. Together, we can explore the right approach.
